Made it out today with a few friends and the salmon are on the chew…The boat went 12 for 20 with the biggest king coming in at 12 pounds and the biggest fish was a lake trout weighing 15 pounds, I have the holiday weekend open if you want to get out there and get them, just give me a call…219-561-3405…

Fishing has been pretty good over the last few weeks. The fish are about 8 to 10 miles off shore..i am just waiting for the inshore water to cool down so the main pod of kings will start to stage in front of MC..I will be offering night trolling charters on the weekends when the kings show up in good numbers….stay tuned

the big fishing( steelhead and King salmon) and yes I said king salmon is still going strong just out side of the MC pier..Trolling at anytime of the day and into the night has been good. Spoons have been the ticket, but colors are changing from day to day. Perch fishing remains pretty good. my perch charter on Sunday was done an hour early with 60 good keepers with the biggest just under a pound. I have started doing some eve/night charters and they have been pretty good. I have this Friday and Sunday open if you want to get out, and then I dont have an opening until the 3 rd friday of aug. Sorry i have not undated in a few weeks i have been going non stop….Here is the fishing in a nut shell…Perch are around mc and if you know where to look you can find them, but what I have been fishing for the most are the Summer Run steelhead that are staging out in front of Michigan City and Down the lake a bit in front of Portage. I am not sure how long the steelhead will be out front but if you want a trip now is the time. I don’t have anything open this weekend but I do for the first weekend in Aug. I will also be offering some eve into night charters which can be a blast and very different being out on the lake in the dark. I also have been catching a few king salmon on almost every trip the last 2 weeks…tight lines to ya

Started out the morning at 5 am. We tried for steelhead for 2 hours but with all the rain on Friday the lake was mud….there was some clean water against the pier, but i could not get close enough with all the people fishing off of it and that would not have been cool. Had one take down but it was missed. decided to go perch fishing at 7 am..we had our limit in just over 2 hours with some very very nice sized perch. Biggest ones that i have caught this season,

My oldest son gage wants to learn to be a first mate and today was his first charter, and a father has never been so proud…he got the hang of it right away….Good job Son

Here is there take home catch, a 2 man limit of 30 perch almost filled a gallon bag, now that is what i am talking about..

Had a steelhead/perch charter this morning and we had a blast..it was a couple out with me today and the whole idea was to get the woman her first steelhead and that is what I did….First fish was caught in about 30 min of setting up……she did a great job fight the fish and taking directions from me…

then about an hour later she was hold her steelhead rod and i hear a fish jumping , she had hooked it all by herself….the steelie put up a great fight and she did another great job fighting the fish….it weighted 12 pounds 4 oz

now the whole time that she is fishing for steelhead we are catching perch, and we got out limit….just another great day on the water….I still have This Friday and Saturday open if you want to come and do one of these trips, both steelhead and perch in the same spot will not last long……tight lines

Had a perch charter this morning, had a good time with the folks from Ft. Wayne,In….they got there 3 man limit and had a great time on the water….this makes 3 days in a row that the boat has limited out on Perch…i still have this Friday and Saturday open if you want to come and fish….

My charters for this Friday and Saturday just canceled….so I am now open on a holiday weekend…..Perch are biting really got right now..I have limited out the last 2 days and went 2…for 6 this morning on steelhead just anchored and floating bait….which is a blast if you have never tried it…..If you want to go fishing give me a call—–219-561-3405
